For Sutton and Kris Rucks, the expression “family tradition” is more than just a cliché. Their family ties also reach across South and Central Florida like rural highways cutting through grazing pastures.

Together, the couple owns and operates Milking R, home to 1,200 milking cows. Daughter Lindsey and son Garrett have grown up on the farm and are now integral pieces of the business. The family also owns a line of premium ice cream and milk – known as Sutton Milk.

  • Sutton Milk is a local, family-owned creamery providing South Florida with local dairy products, owned and operated by the Rucks family in Okeechobee.
  • The Rucks family started Sutton milk as a special treat to offer those taking part in their farm tours. When the pandemic ended public tours, they were left with a surplus of ice cream. Lindsey posted something on Facebook and sold out almost immediately. Now the family sells a multitude of flavors, as well as whole and chocolate milk!
