At Southeast Milk, Inc., sustainability has increasingly become a primary focus of how we do business. We break sustainability down to three primary pillars: Our Planet, Our People, and Our Profitability.
We must focus on preserving our natural resources to feed our people and our animals. We must focus on our people to enrich our employees, consumers, and local communities. Finally, there must be a focus on profitability or our farms would no longer be viable businesses.
U. S. dairy groups have set out to become carbon neutral - or better - by the year 2050. It's an ambitious goal but one we can achieve nonetheless. SMI intends to continue building its sustainability program, providing proven results backed by data and analytics. Our family-owned farms each have their own storied history & legacy we wish to preserve for generations to come.
